Friday I invented a holiday. I dubbed it "National Cookie Day". My students read, wrote and talked about cookies. We even made "monster cookies". Each of my students cracked an egg, mixed and munched the final creations. (Though I must confess the "National" part of "Cookie Day" was just me being silly, no one at my school seemed to mind my exaggeration.
