Popcorn Bliss...

Our local Blockbuster,
and probably yours too
has a fun deal this summer.
For ten dollars,
you can rent as as many videos
as you can watch in a week.
Without homework or serious lesson plans,
we figure we can watch a movie every night.
So,
happily,
we wander the isles...
sampling
scary movies,
heartwarming family titles,
silly imaginative stories
and even
the stray
subtitled foreign film.
Now,
I am not claiming ten dollars
is not a decent amount of money.
However,
for three kids and one mom,
it is pretty cheap entertainment for a week.
We are seriously enjoying our happy romp in movie land.
If you are a fan of the golden screen...
perhaps you need your own week of popcorn delight!
I pray this evening finds you well,
that you are assured that you are loved,
that you KNOW...
really know...
that you are blessed.
Good night and may your adventure be a beautiful one.

A very special day...

Running around this morning before church,

I was squeaking at my oldest to help me finish last minute tidying.

After early church

we hit Tim Horton's for donuts and coffee

and then headed to Target.

Walking up and down the isles,

we picked out things we thought my favorite guy and his daughter might like.

Back home the call came and we heard they were on their way.

Later much later,

with a trip the zoo,

conversation,

a movie

and

dinner

over,

I have a smile on my face

and one in my heart.

Everything was ok.

My kiddos were well behaved

and our girls got along.

It was a very pleasant day.

What a blessing.
I pray that your night,
your tomorrow
brings you
beautiful
adventures.
May you be blessed!

Shouting out to all our friends...

Just for fun...
I must say...
a happy,
a "laughy"
hip hip horray..
my statcounter...
tells me...
who has visited my blog...
and a dear one
a "not near" one...
has stopped by from afar...
So I smile and I wish her a happy fun trip...
...for my oldest and dearest friend...
a big wish!
May everyone out on the road,
near or far...
be safe,
now and always.
May you make it home when the time comes...
May you have some fun on the road!
So,
Trace...
if you're out there...
This post is for you!
Have a great holiday!
With that wonderful mom of yours!

movies... beads... yummy treats...

Today my oldest and I...
made glass bead bracelets and necklaces...
watched three movies,
spooked ourselves silly
and
even made rhubarb turnovers together!

The little ones watched on,
content to observe,
mellow from the candy they caught,
tummies full of burgers.

Smiling,
laughing,
eating,
sigh...
it was a wonderful day...
I am so grateful for our time together...
I pray your day was as lovely
and that your tomorrow is a blessing as well.
Good night and God Bless!

...it happened by chance...

Tonight...
just by chance...
The woman beside me watching fireworks was very friendly.
just by chance...
she introduced herself and
just by chance in conversation...
it came out that she used to work at the very respite location I was considering for my son...
just by chance she used to work with one of my son's caseworkers...
as she told me how nice the facility was...
how she would let her own children go there happily...
I smiled and thought...
Her presence beside me...
Wasn't by chance...

Beautiful fireworks...
kind people who unlocked the church
for my little guy's emergency bathroom trip...
It wasn't by chance...
The One who made us...
watches and cares for you and I...
By using those who love Him here on earth...

oops... pass the frying pan...

Today my sister
and I had a cookout with our kids.
We made roasted corn,
yummy bacon and cheddar hamburgers
and an amazing mozzarella salad.
We made the salad first...
an appetizer while we waited.

....and waited and waited....

Here's where the "oops" comes in... I think laying the foil wrapped corn all over the coals did not leave enough heat for the burgers....
...and...
ummm....
I think I put everything on too soon and some of the coals were smothered...

Thank goodness for frying pans and easy going people.
Everything was still yummy...
it just took a little longer.
and the roasted corn?
Unbelievably delicious..
I could almost believe I was at the Fair.
Happy Fourth!

Just... Happy...

sigh....

With the weekend before me and so many fun plans,
I must confess that I have a happy grin plastered on my face.

Cookouts,
a serious appointment with my girls to catch some fireflies,

Time to make cookies,
bead bracelets to create...

Parks to visit,
water to swim in,
happy thoughts...

Peaceful places...

A zoo to see,
an important young lady to meet.

Fun for everyone I care about.

I pray that you,
like me,
will find some time to just relax.

Enjoy the truly good things in life...
be blessed.

To all of you outside the US of A....
I am so sorry...
I wish you happiness too...

But, there is nothing quite like our Fourth.

I ask a blessing for us all,
May we be kind to one another,
grateful for the freedoms we enjoy
and thankful to those who have made our way of life a possibility.

Happy Fourth of July!
A holiday celebrating independence...
Best enjoyed by embracing our dependence on each other!
