Half my conferences are finished. The other half are tomorrow. I can not begin to tell you how satisfying it is to speak with my parents. To share with them the joy of their children's progress. How blessed I have been to lead and learn with their little ones this year. I am tired. But, oh so very happy. I sit working on portfolios, pondering my students' progress and I feel such a deep sense of satisfaction. What a wonderful blessing it is to teach.

I remember that feeling well. I was not a teacher but I was a leader in the girl guide movement for many years. I loved working with the brownies who were so magical and I loved seeing the look of wonderment in their eyes when I taught them something new. It also made me feel really good when they went running to their parents saying -"look what I did!"
Doreen,
You were a teacher. Not a classroom one, but a teacher non the less. The woman who taught me how to find fun in all situations and how to get along with almost anyone... not a "teacher" either... but instead something better... a mom... my mom! You are such a kind woman. I am glad you stumbled my way. It is happy to read your blog and to share mine as well. Thank you. Susan
