My students were asked to write their ABC's today for an assessment. They were delighted when they were led outside and given chalk and their own patch of blacktop. It was endearing to hear their voices raised in whispered song as they used the familiar Alphabet Song to aid them in their endeavor. When they were done, and their work was checked, each child was allowed to go play on the playground. Chalk...
